9 by Design

This is my favorite new show.

Maybe it's the best new reality show in a long, long time.

The parents, Robert and Cortney, are exactly what every Gen Xer thought they'd be when they grew up. Seven kids and they live in Manhattan: building, designing, and selling the coolest homes. Am I a little envious? Probably. Am I loving their dynamic lives and their wild/awesome kids? Absolutely. A design firm? Hold me.

My favorite quote so far?

Bob, "People ask us why we have so many kids, we love kids."
Cortney, "Yeah, we would rather hang out with our kids than any party."
(They get it.)

What's Everyone Watching?

It's been quiet around here.

I know it's not because we aren't watching TV. I know us better than that.

So ... what's everyone been watching? What are you liking? Hating? Swearing off?

For me it's been basically Lost, 24 and Veronica Mars on DVD for my Drama fix. (Amelia hadn't seen Seasons 1 and 2.) Also, because of who I'm married to, I have been watching a shload of reality TV, including American Idol and The Bastardler. (Jk, Jason. Jk.) We also watch a comedy or two and sit in awe each week at the masterpiece that is 30 Rock.

Lost is scaring me. Not in a good way. And I don't get as excited to watch it as I used to. I still enjoy it but only after I tell myself I should watch it.

24 is a big shark-jumping machine. But some nights it really hits the spot though. Like, if I just want to watch something where I know exactly what I'm gonna get ... I watch 24. It's like comfort food for my brain.

What's everyone else been up to?
