Something Is Missing

Amelia told me last night that without "Mad Men" on TV her life feels incomplete. Off. Askew.

I got that way about Buffy, Angel and Alias, I'll admit. But I don't know that I have felt that way about a show recently.

Anyone have any shows that when they end for the season you feel a little empty inside?

Not anymore and it makes me sad. Amy and I were discussing this the other night. TV kinda sucks this season. No great new breakout shows. Good shows being canceled (Pushing Daisies) and formerly good shows getting stupid. If I have to see Hiro be a 10 year old for another episode I may just quit.

I do miss Buffy and Veronica Mars still.

I kind of felt like that after I finished season 1 of Mad Men recently and then knew that I didn't have any way of watching season 2. It was very depressing.

But yeah, not really anything else like that right now.

I still miss Buffy and Veronica Mars and Alias when it was good.

Side note: I remember when Josh would mail me episodes of Buffy on a VHS tape to our small flat in Dawlish and I would cry when it came and tell Topher how Miles, our firstborn, should really go to Josh. And then I was super popular at the nursery playgroups around town because I knew what was going on on Buffy before anyone else. . . the Methodist and Catholic mums loved me!

I don't feel that way about Heroes right now, but I wish I did. I really like Battlestar Gallactica, though.

I miss Mad Men also. But it's the only serial I really watch. I hate when my reality stories end. I'm not looking forward to the lonely Sunday TV nights after the Amazing Race finale!

Luckily for you, Friday Night Lights starts up in January (?) and it is certainly NOT a disappointment. Such a great show (and Riggins is still greasy and delightful). We've already seen the episodes that have aired, of course, but I told Josh that I was jealous of people who didn't have Direct TV and would be able to see it for the first time in January. Other than that, TV has made me sad. And that is not the role TV should be playing. I have children to do that.

Heroes bit the black banana.

Oh Tim Riggins--you are what has been missing in my life. And I also love me some BSG. Can't wait!

So you think you can dance......It feeds my soul. Dramatic? Maybe.
